Investing NT$300 Million in Taiwan’s New Factory, Introducing Smart Production and ESG Initiatives.

With 40 years of expertise in precision metal component manufacturing, Ho Song operates two major production bases in Taiwan and Vietnam. In recent years, the company has undergone a significant transformation. The new factory in Taiwan integrates smart production and ESG principles, successfully entering the supply chain of the world’s largest Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV) equipment manufacturer. In 2023, Ho Song also initiated AS13100 aerospace certification. General Manager Wei-Chung Chang aims to establish business offices in the U.S. and Japan in the second half of this year, expanding into a new blue ocean in metal processing and striving to become a hidden champion factory.

Discussing the global supply chain reshuffle and the future of manufacturing, Wei-Chung Chang noted that the pandemic, U.S.-China trade war, and Russia-Ukraine conflict have shifted global procurement from long-chain to short-chain regional sourcing. This year, the world faces inflation and economic slowdown pressures, leading to inventory digestion, fewer customer orders, and shorter delivery times—posing a significant management challenge. Additionally, he highlighted that Taiwan’s “geopolitical risks” are a major concern, impacting export-oriented industries.

Next Step: Establishing Offices in the U.S. and Japan for a Stable Global Expansion.

Chairwoman Ju-Yun Cheng stated that the company is focusing on risk management and resource diversification. The key is maintaining flexible production while expanding into overseas markets in the U.S. and Japan. To ensure customer confidence, Ho Song is setting up offices in North America and Japan, providing localized, real-time services to better meet customer needs and drive stable business growth.

To enhance market visibility and drive sustainable long-term growth, Ho Song is implementing big data analytics and upgrading MES, ERP, Industrial IoT, and SPC systems for production risk management. These systems also assist in production scheduling and order forecasting. “Production management and technological uniqueness are key to success. We aim to produce what 90% of manufacturers avoid,” said Wei-Chung Chang. The company encourages engineers and employees to learn new technologies. Even senior craftsmen over 60 years old are adapting by learning to operate robotic arms and computers. By systematically passing down and refining expertise, Ho Song transforms worker intelligence into smart manufacturing—making it the preferred choice for customers.

The factory integrates new technologies, energy-saving equipment, and clean rooms to meet the demands of high-end applications. At the same time, it is committed to implementing carbon reduction and sustainability initiatives by installing solar power, energy storage systems, and smart meter monitoring. The company focuses on manufacturing high-precision components for the IT semiconductor, healthcare, low-orbit satellite, and electric vehicle industries. To prepare for the anticipated implementation of carbon taxes in various countries, Ho Song is also actively collaborating with domestic non-profit organizations to conduct carbon audits and implement subsequent carbon reduction plans.

Wei-Chung Chang stated that Ho Song's participation in the "Three Major Investment Plans in Taiwan" aims to support the semiconductor and defense aerospace industries in Taiwan. "We must seize the opportunity to serve companies investing in Taiwan, as they will inevitably use Taiwan-made components." Additionally, the company has been deeply rooted in Southeast Asia, accumulating over 12 years of operational experience in Vietnam. After overcoming the initial learning curve, the Vietnam plant is now operating steadily. In recent years, Ho Song has introduced the concept of a virtual factory, integrating information systems and personnel training to connect its two major production bases in Vietnam and Taiwan, offering customers diverse production locations.Regarding mid-to-long-term strategic planning, Wei-Chung Chang confidently stated, "Ho Song aspires to be an innovative enterprise within traditional manufacturing." Moving forward, the company will closely follow global trends and industry leaders, continuously enhancing machining technology and smart production. By capturing market opportunities, Ho Song aims to pioneer a blue ocean in the metal processing industry and establish itself as Taiwan's next hidden champion factory.
